I love the design of this blog. I especially love the subway header in the “Our Class Blog.” Blogging seems like it will be a motivation for your students to write. I teach fourth grade in New York City and we have a class blog as well. We will start posting our writing shortly. This is the first year I have tried technology as a teaching and learning tool so I’m an excited and curious to see how it motivates fourth graders to write. Our blog address is derekbrandow.net
I’m running into several parents who are extremely concerned about their child’s safety on the internet. Have you encountered this problem with parents? If so, how did you respond?

Thank you for your comment Derek. This my first time using this technology too. I suppose because our students are older – Year 9 and 10 – there has not been as much concern. I looked at your parent page and I think I have done much the same as you. I made sure that people in admin knew about it. I wrote an article in the newsletter explaining the procedure we had gone through to make sure students were safe.
